Two construction workers died and another was injured on Tuesday after a school building under construction collapsed in İstanbul's Sarıyer district.
Firefighters and ambulances were immediately dispatched to the site of the school, which belongs to the private Ufuk Schools company. The injured worker was rushed to the İstinye State Hospital for treatment.
Sarıyer Deputy Mayor Sevgi Atalay told reporters two construction workers had died in the incident.
“This building is licensed, but if there is any negligence involved in this incident, it will be revealed after an investigation,” she added.
The reason for the collapse is not yet known.
