I've got some really incredible news to share with you! I expect you've heard descriptions of Istanbul as a bridge between Europe and Asia Well, I've just returned from my first trip there and I think it's one of the most magical cities I've ever visited. It's not like Paris, Rome or Madrid, or anywhere European, but it's not like Cairo or Beirut or any Asian city either. İstanbul is a mix of the best of everything! Let me tell you a bit about what I saw and did there.
Every day, I was busy going sightseeing from morning till night. I got up early every morning and ate a good breakfast at my hotel. You know, the Turks take this meal very seriously and I loved tasting local dishes. After that. I went down to the port to take a ferry boat to visit the most well-known sights I loved the Blue Mosque. Hagia Sophia, the Galata Tower and the narrow little streets in the old part of the city.
One day, I wandered through the Grand Bazaar. I've never seen so many people and so many shops or smelt so many fascinating smells in one small area. It was really crowded but I still managed to buy lots of interesting souvenirs! On another day, I took a 90-minute Bosphorus cruise. I admired the unforgettable views with all kinds of architecture as we passed beautiful old palaces and castles. Hundreds of seagulls flew with us all the way, waiting for us to feed them! It's a popular local custom, you know!
Now, I realise why so many tourists return to this city again and again. Actually, I can't wait to go back. I hope we get the chance to go together next timel! What do you think? See you soon! Love Miranda
